One Hundred Years of Solitude - [5/10]

A weird one to read. The style it was written in was really hard to follow along and understand what was going on, nothing seemed to flow or link. Add this to the fact that all the characters have the same/similar names and it’s really easy to get lost whilst reading this book. There are flashes however of really interesting storytelling and captivating ideas, which kept me hooked in enough to keep reading. The problem for me was how everything tied in together. This would be good as a tv series perhaps, because trying to sort all the different characters of the same name in my head just wasn’t working. Was a mission to finish this one, but sort of left it understanding some sort of message from it? Also, incest is not cool!
